THE FRUITS OF OUR LABOR

“The Fruits of Our Labor”, a tale spun by newcomers Rachel Dietrich and Lexi Sadler, and illustrated by award winning artist Sean Dietrich, tells the tale of Xander who finds out what he can be when he grows up as he plunges into plates and plates of healthy fruits and veggies. The book is alphabet style and will have your children holding onto your pant leg begging not to leave the produce section of your local grocer. " 'The Fruits of Our Labor' is a kid's book, coupled with a U.S. tour, that will help teach kids to combine creativity with healthy food. THE GOALS: What we aim to create is not just a book release, but a tour created to promote the book anchored by illustrator Sean Dietrich's live painting career which has spanned 11.5 years and over 900 shows. A U.S. Live Art Tour has been booked starting late July, and, by traveling around the country and using Dietrich's self styled marketing of bringing art to the people on a personal level, we want to raise awareness of healthy living, creativity with food, and help supplement children's knowledge of art and how to apply creative thinking to day to day life--a concept and commitment of the creators that hits close to home as they watch art, music and drama being taken out of the California schools because of budget cuts. Money raised on Kickstarter will fund the printing of the book and cover expenses of the tour. We already have a printer, distribution, communication with major charities that we will be working with and the tour is already booked in over 10 major cities with many more dates to come. THE BOOK: The book itself, simply put, is AWESOME! We always tell our kids "Eat your fruits and veggies, and you'll grow up big and strong!", but what do I do mommy when I DO grow up big and stong? Well, our cast of garden grown characters will show you. By coupling fruits and veggies with occupations in an alphabet style book, such as the 'Artistic Artichoke', we are able to teach children about different and unique things to eat, and allow them to learn about a multitude of cool job possibilities that are awaiting them when they grow up. THE TOUR: We will be traveling around the U.S. to promote the book at comic cons, nightclubs, festivals, and special events with local charities--and we'll be doing it in style in our tent trailer! That's right, no fancy tour bus here, just a good ol' fashioned camping/road trip. So far the tour is booked for 6 months and will cover almost 10,000 miles!
